How I Treat It:

  • Poor posture can result in musculoskeletal aches and pains, dysfunction, misalignment of your spine and increased risk of injury. Carrying out a postural assessment, you can uncover the root causes of any postural issues, reduce pain and restore normal movement

  • Dry needling is a form of acupuncture when the needle is applied directly to an affected muscle or trigger point, it can decrease muscle tightness, increase blood flow and reduce pain

  • This type of massage therapy focuses heavily on the area of pain and tension, working slowly and deeply to ease pain symptoms, improve blood flow and facilitate restoration. The focus is on the deepest layers of muscle tissue, tendons, and fascia (the protective layer surrounding muscles, bones and joints).

  • Trigger point therapy is a soft tissue technique that works to release painful, tension in muscles and fascia that you would usually experience as a knot in the muscle. Trigger points can be responsible for uncomfortable referral pain through to other areas of the body

  • Using a percussion gun, Percussive massage uses rapid and repetitive pressure combined with vibration therapy. The vibrations can reach 60% deeper into muscles compared to usual massage therapy, which provides more rapid recovery and healing

  • Muscle scraping uses a specialized instrument, such as a Graston tool or gua sha, to break up adhesions and scar tissue within the fascia. This allows for increased blood flow, oxygenation, and nutrient exchange within the affected area, which can speed up healing and promote tissue regeneration.

  • Strapping can help to temporarily relieve pain as well as reduce excessive movement of a particular area while it heals. Strapping is a temporary form of bracing that is applied to any joint to offload painful areas, muscles or tendons.

  • Fascia is a strong connective tissue that covers all the systems of the body. It covers the head to the feet without disruption and in multiple directions. It includes muscles, bones, tendons and ligaments. The major purpose of fascia is it permits the body to achieve normal shape and allows vital organs the ability to function and maintain correct positions.

Myofascial release is a hands-on treatment, applying gentle sustained pressure directly onto the skin without massage balm, oil or cream.

  • Constant or intermittent pain in the jaw joint (TMJ), ranging from mild to severe can be debilitating. TMJ can lead to frequent headaches and/or migraines. Treatment consists of external jaw massage, trigger point treatment, intraoral treatment and stretching.

  • IntraOral Therapy is a hands-on way to access, release and balance musculoskeletal and structural issues of the jaw, hyoid muscles, the tongue, the TMJ, and the sub-occipital muscles, by working inside the mouth.

  • Cupping therapy is an ancient form of alternative medicine in which a suction cup is secured to the skin for a few minutes to create a pulling sensation on the skin and fascia. Many purposes include to help with muscle tension, pain, improve blood flow, relaxation and well-being.

  • Traction is a form of decompression therapy. It relieves pressure on the spine and alleviates pain from joints, sprains, and spasms. It can also treat herniated discs, sciatica, degenerative disc disease, pinched nerves, and many other back conditions.

  • Radial Shockwave Therapy (RSWT) is a non-invasive treatment that uses high-energy acoustic waves to treat various musculoskeletal conditions. It works by delivering radial pressure waves to the affected area, which helps stimulate blood flow, reduce pain, and promote healing.

RSWT is often used to treat conditions like plantar fasciitis, tennis elbow, tendinitis, back pain, shoulder pain and a range of other musculoskeletal conditions. The therapy is generally performed in a series of sessions and is considered safe with minimal side effects, such as temporary discomfort, bruising and swelling. It is especially useful for chronic conditions that haven't responded well to other treatments.
