Why Dynamic Therapy was born
Dynamic Therapy began after I spent five years post-graduation learning and training under a range of practitioners in the industry.
During this time, I noticed a theme of patients being frustrated by navigating multiple practitioners for treatment and rehabilitation.
Repeating medical histories to several practitioners with varying reception, managing travel times, and balancing associated costs is an arduous process. And that’s when work and family responsibilities are flexible enough to allow patients to seek the care they need.
Witnessing the barriers patients face to receiving care led me to build a practice centred on accessibility, providing a diverse array of treatments in a supportive, culturally responsive setting.
Hi! I’m Charlie Rickard
Founder, Director, Lead Practitioner
Growing up an active kid in Hawke’s Bay, I experienced many sports-related injuries in adrenaline sports. This was the start of an interest in anatomy and a passion for healing.
I pursued a Bachelor of Health Science majoring in Neuromuscular Treatment, graduating in 2016. As a graduate, I had opportunities to work with The Royal New Zealand Ballet, the Wellington Phoenix, the Wellington Saints and athletes from around the Pacific.
More recently I have worked in diverse rehabilitation clinics. I have collaborated with GPs, physios, chiropractors, and corrective movement specialists to enhance my ability to provide comprehensive care for patients from all walks of life.
Using a multidisciplinary approach allows me to provide tailored treatment plans that look at the whole person and their desired outcome.
In my spare time, I enjoy painting, gaming, trying local eateries, diving, and exploring the outdoors with my partner, Damon, and dog, Xena.

Locations
Napier Clinic
Dynamic Therapy’s Napier clinic is located inside the vibrant Napier CrossFit gym.
Access to this clinic is up a flight of stairs and there is unfortunately no elevator, meaning this clinic is not wheelchair accessible.
As this clinic is above a functioning CrossFit gym, there may be loud music and banging weights during certain times of the day. If you are looking for a quieter environment, the Havelock North clinic will be the best option for you.
I am available here on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays offering a range of treatments. However, shockwave therapy is only available at our Havelock North location.
Havelock North Clinic
Dynamic Therapy’s Havelock North clinic is located in Joint Space Chiropractic.
There is free, off-street parking, full wheelchair access, and a café next door, offering maximum convenience for your appointment.
I am available here on Mondays and Thursdays from 10 am to 6:30 pm offering a full range of services, including shockwave therapy.
